We are proud memebers of both SAIF and the NAFD:
SAIF: The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors is a trade association whose members are all independent funeral directors. The funeral service they offer is not part of a national or international conglomerate or chain, but is privately owned and managed. In fact, a large proportion of members’ funeral homes have been run by the same family for generations. IIndependent funeral directors are known for their high standard of service and a caring, traditional approach to their local communities, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. By choosing a SAIF member when the need arises, you are assured of a trusted and caring professional who is dedicated to serving the needs of the community. SIAF Members must adhere to a strict Code of Practice. To read this document, please contact SAIF Business Centre on 0345 230 6777.
NAFD: The NAFD is proud to be the voice of the funeral profession. It is a role they take extremely seriously, representing the views and interests of funeral businesses – and the bereaved families in their care – to the media and in all the UK’s Parliaments and Assemblies. Independent and inclusive, the NAFD is the largest trade association for the funeral sector with 3,800 funeral homes represented as well as hundreds of suppliers to the sector and international funeral firms. Their size and breadth of membership gives them the authority to represent the sector’s views to the highest levels of Government as well as the media and general public. The NAFD represents the funeral profession at all levels of Government on legislative matters and campaigns on issues affecting not only funeral directors, but also bereaved families too. We provide informed opinion to Parliamentarians, Government agencies and consumer groups on all funeral matters. Independent of any single funding body or organisation the NAFD is inclusive, welcoming members from right across the spectrum of the industry. Not beholden to any one perspective, we work hard to balance the views and needs of all our members – big and small.
